We are pleased to announce the participation of two Frost School of Music groups in this year’s Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival: Frost Concert Jazz Band and The Dafnis Prieto Artist Ensemble.
More than 130 groups apply each year, and from these the very best duke it out April 8-10 in Monterey, California, for the glory of performing at the Monterey Jazz Festival in September.
On April 9th, the Frost School of Music – Dafnis Prieto Artist Ensemble will compete in the College Combo’s category. On April 10th, the Frost School of Music – Frost Concert Jazz Band will compete in the College Big Bands category.
FSOM is proud to have The Frost Concert Jazz Band and The Dafnis Prieto Artist Ensemble representing the University of Miami. The Next Generation Jazz Festival invites 1300 of the nation’s top student musicians each year to one of the most comprehensive festivals in the country.
