If you’ve been hoping to adapt new ways to create less waste, use fewer resources, and be more environmentally conscious, the University of Miami Office of Sustainability has you covered this summer. Explore upcoming green workshops, register for in-person and virtual events, and earn Well ’Canes points, when eligible.

The Miller School of Medicine Food and Herb Garden—located near the Calder Library on the Medical Campus—is home to many varieties of edible plants. Join the Green Student Committee for a workshop on growing your own food at home. Learn about raised beds, food forests, and experience a live cooking demonstration with ingredients harvested from the garden. Register.

Thursday, June 30, at 5 p.m.

Ready to take recycling to the next level? Learn the basics of how to compost food scraps and waste at home or in the community. Register.

Through ULearn, faculty and staff members can learn about best-practices for living a sustainable lifestyle at home and in the office. With a variety of topics, including Sustainability 101 and Food and Diet 101, there’s something for everyone. Many courses are also eligible to earn Well ’Canes points. Register for a webinar.
