If you’ve been hoping to adapt new ways to create less waste, use fewer resources, and be more environmentally conscious, the University of Miami Office of Sustainability has you covered this summer. Explore upcoming green workshops, register for in-person and virtual events, and earn Well ’Canes points, when eligible.

Volunteer to garden on the Coral Gables Campus. 

The sustainability garden in the Gifford Arboretum continues to thrive thanks to dedicated faculty, staff, and student volunteers. Contact greenu@miami.edu to register for the next session on Wednesday, July 15. Eligible staff members can receive up to 100 points for an hour of volunteering.  

Enroll in the Green Office Program 

With the help of GreenU experts, any office or department at the University of Miami can enroll in the Green Office Certification Program and earn points. Read a success story from the ’Canes Central team and learn more about the program.

Brush up on your sustainability knowledge. 

Through ULearn, faculty and staff members can learn about best-practices for living a sustainable lifestyle at home and in the office. With a variety of topics, including Sustainability 101 and Food and Diet 101, there’s something for everyone. Many courses are also eligible to earn Well ’Canes points. Register for a webinar.
