The Miami Hurricanes kicked off the football season with an employee appreciation game day and faculty and staff members who had 25 years or more of service were recognized on the field.

In celebration of the hard work and dedication of University of Miami faculty and staff members, the Hurricanes kicked off the football season with pregame festivities, on-field experiences, and special giveaways exclusively for University employees.  

During the game, senior leaders recognized the following faculty and staff members for serving 25 years or more with the University:

  • Ann-Britt Bennett, 35 years of service
  • James Burgess, 35 years of service
  • Mark Dunbar, 35 years of service
  • Marva Slaughter, 35 years of service
  • Rodolfo Alejandro, 40 years of service
  • Gary Heath, 40 years of service
  • Andrea Heuson, 40 years of service
  • David Roth, 40 years of service
  • Mitchell Shapiro, 40 years of service
  • Ira Sheskin, 45 years of service
