GW Carver Middle School students are involved in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Competition, one of 15 national finalists. The school’s project is a video about the former incinerator, Old Smokey, and the environmental impact to the community. The school’s project “aims to gather scientific evidence to compel public action…”

A University of Miami student involved with the School of Law Environmental Justice Project provided some guidance to the Carver students as they were researching their project. The Carver students are seeking online votes for their project in the hopes of winning the Samsung competition.
