In Her Shoes

By UM News
UM students, staff and faculty join the worldwide march to end men’s violence against women.

On Thursday, men slipped on high heels to Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, the international men’s march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence. Students, faculty and staff gathered at the Student Center Complex Rock Plaza in support of the cause. Award-winning interior designers and survivors of rape and domestic violence Karen Hansen and Laura Rachlin spoke to the crowd on the importance of educating others about sexual violence. The event was organized by the University of Miami’s Counseling Center, along with other UM organizations, and proceeds benefited the Safe Space Foundation.
