Reminder: Study spaces available for students

An online calendar identifies vacant classrooms for the spring semester that can be used as study spaces or as a place where students can access remote classes.

The Office of Classroom Management at the University of Miami has revised an online calendar tool, so students can find vacant classrooms and additional on-campus areas that are available to be used as study spaces or as a place where they can access remote classes.

Available classrooms are located within the following spaces:

  • Dooly Memorial Building
  • Solomon G. Merrick Building
  • Allen Hall
  • Whitten Learning Center

“We recognize that students need access to additional, physically distanced study spaces between classes,” said Jeffrey L. Duerk, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost. “These indoor spaces provide valuable options for students needing a quiet place to study or prepare for their next class.”

Students can access study areas only during the time frames highlighted in orange on the calendar. They must not rearrange furniture within these spaces, and at all times students must continue to follow safety guidelines—including wearing a face covering and maintaining a physical distance of at least six feet. If necessary, students should use headphones to make sure these shared spaces remain as quiet as possible.
