Associate Professor of History Martin Nesvig arranged the visit to give his students an opportunity to learn first-hand about the issues facing this fascinating and important neighborhood. Greico described important initiatives in Miami Beach, such as his support for the light rail and recent efforts to address rising sea levels in the community. He also answered questions from students.

A 1999 graduate of the UM School of Law, Greico worked as a Miami-Dade Assistant State Attorney, focusing on gang and narcotics enforcement, for six years. He became a supervising Felony Division Chief in 2005, and opened his private law practice in 2007. Greico chose to locate his small business in Miami Beach, where he lives and is raising his young son. He was motivated to seek local office in order to ensure that his son will grow up in a city of which he is proud.

A perpetual philanthropist, Greico is invloved in many Miami organizations, such as the Miami Children's Hospital Young Ambassadors, Mount Sinai Hospital Young Founders, Miami Children's Museum and Big Brothers Big Sisters. While an undergraduate in Washington, DC, Greico worked for both C-SPAN and the U.S. Congress.
