“It is a pleasure to be the face and the first line of communication with the faculty and students in MAE,” said Castro. “I have been working in this capacity for more than two years. It was a surprise and an honor to receive this recognition.”
The Sebastian Award recognizes a staff member who shows outstanding performance, dedication and a positive attitude above and beyond their everyday duties. Each recipient can elect to receive $250 or two days off.
“Kelly is unfailingly helpful and friendly to everyone, and is one of the reasons why our Department has had an especially good reputation for its friendly atmosphere,” said Marisol Pernas, office manager in the CoE Department of MAE. “She’s absolutely fantastic to work with!”
