Mechanical Engineering Student Named ACC Indoor Field Performer of the Year

Congratulations to Debbie Ajagbe, BSME ’21, who has been named the ACC Indoor Field Performer of the Year. 

The conference announced Wednesday, April 1, that Ajagbe was crowned with the award after a lifetime-best performance at the ACC Indoor Championships. The accolade wraps up Ajagbe's stellar junior season, adding to her ACC Indoor Championships Field MVP title.

"Debbie works hard every day and to watch it all come together and perform at the highest level that we all know she could was exciting," said Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Amy Deem said. "It's truly a well-deserved honor for her and all that she accomplished this season." 

Ajagbe finished the season ranked No. 5 nationally in the women's weight throw and No. 15 in the shot put.  The Miami native was set to make her debut at the 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships in the weight throw.
