Effective fall 2019, Guillermo Page (B.B.A. ’95, M.B.A. ‘97) joins the faculty as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice and Assistant Director in the Music Business and Entertainment Industries Program (MBEI). The announcement was made by Serona Elton, Director of the MBEI Program and Associate Professor and Associate Dean of Administration.
A University of Miami Alumni Guillermo’s vast and extensive resume in the music industry began as an indie record label executive. He later held positions at BMG Entertainment, EMI Music and Sony Music, where as Senior Vice President Commercial & Sales for its U.S. Latin Division, played a pivotal role in the label’s evolution from physical to digital business, while also developing new sources of revenue in licensing and brand partnerships during a transitional time in the industry. He later joined Universal Music Group in a similar capacity as Senior Vice President Trade and Strategic Products for the U.S. and Mexico. As the principal of GDR Consulting, he provides services to artists, songwriters, record labels and music publishing companies in the U.S. and Latin America.

In commenting Serona Elton stated: "We are thrilled that Guillermo is joining our team. He brings an extensive music marketing background, having created and executed campaigns around recordings, artists, and other music-related content, such as music television programs. He is the perfect complement to our existing faculty and will play a significant role in our future efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and new ventures throughout the hemisphere, in line with the University of Miami roadmap. Students in both our on-campus and online programs will benefit immediately from the opportunity to learn from him, both in our classes and as the new advisor to our student-run record label, ‘Cane Records."

In commenting Guillermo Page stated: "Joining the Frost School of Music faculty at UM has been a lifelong dream of mine that started when I became a UM alumnus. Always at the leading edge of education, the Frost School of Music is a beacon that attracts incredible talent from all over the world. It will be a privilege and an honor to join my alma mater and contribute to the development of the industry leaders of tomorrow, shaping the vision and hands-on skills they will need to reach new heights in the ever-changing business of music and entertainment. I want to thank Dean Shelton Berg and Associate Dean Serona Elton for this fantastic opportunity."
