In commenting Serona Elton stated: "We are thrilled that Guillermo is joining our team. He brings an extensive music marketing background, having created and executed campaigns around recordings, artists, and other music-related content, such as music television programs. He is the perfect complement to our existing faculty and will play a significant role in our future efforts to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and new ventures throughout the hemisphere, in line with the University of Miami roadmap. Students in both our on-campus and online programs will benefit immediately from the opportunity to learn from him, both in our classes and as the new advisor to our student-run record label, ‘Cane Records."
