Alumnus Jamie Christopherson scores music for Netflix’ #1 movie “A California Christmas”

Jamie Christopherson (M.M. ‘2000) is riding high this holiday season. His latest collaboration scoring films for ESX Entertainment, A California Christmas, a Netflix Original movie, reached the pinnacle #1 trending spot.

Jamie composed a country-tinged music score for the film along with co-writing several original songs and a folksy arrangement for “O Holy Night” at the end of the film.
 
“Attending the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami was one of the best decisions I’ve made in life," states Jamie. "Honestly, the Masters in Media Writing & Production program was very fun, but also extremely challenging and intense. In actuality, it was perfectly geared towards preparing me for how the real world of entertainment works, and I am very grateful for the lessons of hard work, flexibility, and perseverance that I learned there.”
 
Known for his interest and expertise in multiple media and genres, Jamie’s music can be heard in feature films, video games, television shows, documentaries, theatrical trailers, commercial spots, and theme parks. His most notable works include feature films such as A California Christmas (Netflix), The Ride (Amazon Prime), American Wrestler, and interactive scores to best-selling video games such as Metal Gear Rising: RevengeanceLost Planet 1 & 2Dead Rising, and Lineage II He has also scored several documentaries such as Goal Keepers and written extensive additional music for TV shows, most notably for the Showtime shows HomelandRay Donovan and The Affair, CBS's Extant, and the J.J. Abrams produced NBC show Revolution.
