Adam Holt joined the faculty of the University of Miami (UM) Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science as an assistant professor in the Department of Marine Geosciences. He is a geodynamicist who studies the deformation occurring at plate boundaries and within the underlying, flowing mantle. By integrating a range of solid Earth modeling techniques with geological observations, his work places bounds on the physical processes and parameters that govern this deformation. He received his PhD in geological sciences from the University of Southern California, where his doctoral work focused on the dynamics of subduction zones. Prior to joining the faculty at Rosenstiel School, Holt was a postdoctoral associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
