Do you have a special co-worker at the U who has gone above and beyond to help you?

How about a professor who has done the same for you in class?

If you haven’t already, now is the time to say “thank you” to those special people in your life. November is National Gratitude Month, a time to embrace the power of appreciation.

The Division of Development and Alumni Relations is doing its part to spread the message of giving thanks by encouraging members of the University community to reach out to one another and express gratitude and thankfulness.

“It is our goal to show our appreciation to our donors, students, colleagues, patients, alumni, and all those who brighten our U on a daily basis,” said Josh Friedman, senior vice president for development and alumni relations. “We practice gratitude at the U 365 days a year, and we hope you will join us in saying ‘thank you’ all month long.”

If you need another reason to give thanks, research shows that its good for you. Those who embrace gratitude as part of their lifestyle are happier and healthier.

Remember, the easiest way to say “thank you” to a member of the ’Canes family is by sending an electronic note of gratitude through Thank a 'Cane.
