UM Alumnus Sam Dorman was selected to represent Swiss watchmaker Mido, as guests from around the world gathered to celebrate the culmination of their #BeInspiredByArchitecture campaign with an exclusive gala held at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.

The gala honored the launch of a new Mido Inspired by Architecture Limited Edition timepiece, celebrating the release of only 500 exclusive pieces, featuring design elements inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s famed architectural marvel.

According to Mido’s statement, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum beautifully exemplifies Mido’s values of innovation, durability and timelessness. Classic yet also contemporary, this new Inspired By Architecture Limited Edition further strengthens Mido’s binding relationship with architecture, while paying tribute to one of history’s greatest design accomplishments.

As a friend of the Mido brand and a VIP guest at the Gala, Dorman was interviewed by journalists from China, France, Mexico, Taiwan and Malaysia along with many US journalists about the exclusive watch.

Mido is the presenting partner of UM Athletics MIDO Countdown to Kick-Off and the Official Timepiece of The Hurricane Game Day TV Show. The Swiss watchmaker was also a Platinum sponsor of the University of Miami Commencement Ball in May 2017.
