On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, ’Canes everywhere will come together to invest in the University of Miami’s mission of transforming lives through education, research, innovation, and service. Our fifth annual #OneDayOneU Giving Day kicks off just after midnight eastern time.
Every ’Cane counts—and you can help power us forward. All gifts, no matter the size, help advance the University, from trailblazing research that improves peoples’ lives to scholarships that open doors to brighter opportunities for our students, and much more. With your help, we can make extraordinary things happen.
Our goal during #OneDayOneU Giving Day is to secure 3,500 donors and unlock additional dollars from our generous challenge gift supporters, amplifying the impact of individual contributions. That impact has the potential to touch every corner of the University, benefiting students, faculty, medical research, academic and campus programs, and the wider community.
Participating in Giving Day is easy, no matter where you are in the world. Give to the area or areas that matter most to you by making an online donation in any amount on October 11 between midnight and 11:59 p.m., eastern time. Early giving kicks off on September 26.
This year, you can expect specific giving challenges, power hours when you can score some ’Canes merchandise, interactive events, and more engaging features. Share your support and spread the word on your social media channels with the hashtag #OneDayOneU. Social posts will be aggregated and featured on the Giving Day home page. And as the clock ticks you can keep tabs on the leaderboard showing donor count, dollars raised, and challenges met.
Best of all, you can become a Giving Day ambassador, help spread the word, and unlock a special gift when two friends join you in giving. Giving Day ambassadors will receive a Giving Day toolkit equipped with ready-to-use content and graphics to help spread the #OneDayOneU message.
