Rosalina Sackstein, longtime faculty member at the University of Miami Frost School of Music, dies at the age of 93.

Rosalina Sackstein, Professor Emeritus (Piano) spent 50 years at the Frost School of Music. She received B.S. and B.A degrees and a Performer’s Certificate in piano, violin, theory, and solfege from the Conservatory of Music, Camaguey, Cuba. She earned her M.Ed. degree from the University of Miami and a doctorate in pedagogy from the University of Havana, Cuba. Sackstein was a student of Claudio Arrau, Isabelle Vengerova, and Rafael DeSilva. She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in the United States and abroad, conducts master classes and piano workshops, and served as an adjudicator in competitions.
