For the first time ever, ESPN will broadcast its popular "College GameDay" program live from the University of Miami's Coral Gables campus from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturday, November 11. Students are encouraged to attend the live broadcast on the Lakeside Patio and participate in this spirited and engaging event.

College GameDay

Please adhere to the following policies set by ESPN:

  • Fans may line up for access to The Pit beginning at 5 a.m. between the University Center (UC) and the Shalala Student Center.
  • The Pit opens at approximately 6:30 a.m. and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is open to the public, and students do not have reserved or priority access to The Pit.
  • The live show will broadcast from 9 a.m. to noon - fans in The Pit are expected to attend the entire broadcast.
  • All fans entering The Pit will be screened by security.
  • The designated overflow location is the UC Rock Plaza.

As outlined by ESPN, the following items are not allowed into The Pit:

  • Bags, backpacks or purses
  • Signs that are offensive, vulgar, inappropriate or solicitation (i.e., political, religious, URL's, etc.)
  • Signs or flags on sticks, poles, etc.
  • Pens, pencils, markers or dry erase boards
  • Food or drinks
  • Throwing of objects is prohibited

In addition, there will be overflow viewing areas around Lake Osceola and the Rock Plaza


On-Campus Dining and Retail Options

 To accommodate student participation in ESPN's GameDay broadcast, the following dining and retail establishments will operate under adjusted hours.

  • The Rathskeller is open from 8 a.m. until noon (alcohol will not be served).
  • Hecht-Stanford Dining Hall opens at 6:30 a.m. for continental breakfast. Full breakfast service will begin at 8a.m.
  • UC Hurricane Foodcourt
    • SC Starbucks opens at 6 a.m.
    • Vicky's Cafe opens at 7 a.m.
    • Subway opens at 7 a.m.
    • Tossed will serve Einstein Bagel's menu including bagels, muffins, and coffee starting at 7 a.m.
    • The remainder of the Foodcourt opens at 10:30 a.m.
    • Einstein Bagel's will be open at the Law School at 8 a.m. with full menu.
    • UM Bookstore Pop-Up Shop is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • The UM Bookstore is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

UBus Information

Student buses to Hard Rock Stadium leave from Stanford Circle beginning at 5 p.m. and run continuously until 8 p.m. Buses will not begin returning to campus until approximately halftime. Students must arrive at the Hard Rock Stadium UBus line no later than 30 minutes after the game has ended in order to return to campus on a UBus.

Gates open at 6:30 p.m. and the game is set to kickoff at 8p.m.

Student seating in the lower level of Hard Rock Stadium is limited and students are encouraged to arrive early. Once the lower level fills up, students will be directed to seats in the 300 level.

  • 4:30 - 5:50 p.m. -  Sign in for Senior Walk at the Student FanZone
  • 6:00 p.m. - NW Gate opens for Senior Walk
  • 6:20 p.m. - Senior Walk begins
