Taelor had previously released two singles “Tightrope” and “(She’s An) After Midnight Disaster” off the EP, which was produced by Avery Blake Music, a fellow University of Miami, Frost School of Music 2017 alumnus, and features six original songs.

Taelor sings, plays guitar and piano. He shares that his songs reflect his inner thoughts, and experiences in his life to date: love, romance, challenges and coping with other’s expectations. “I write with an understanding of shared universal themes, enabling the listener to connect with the feelings I’m expressing,” Taelor said.

In addition to the new album, Taelor signed a distribution deal with The Orchard, announced his attorney, Joel Schoenfeld, partner at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp.

How long have you known that your passion was music?

I have known that my passion is music since I was 2 years old. I used to take my toy guitar and stand up on my grandparents’ fireplace and give “concerts” for anyone that would listen. In high school, I started writing songs and that’s what led to my discovering of the Bruce Hornsby program at Frost.

Why did you choose Frost School of Music?

I pretty much taught myself how to play guitar and did not receive any real formal music training before coming to UM, but I loved to write songs and loved the idea of studying songwriting in college. After getting accepted, I narrowed down my choices to Miami, Northeastern, and Belmont. All three had impressive music business programs, but my gut always told me I needed to be a 'Cane. It was the first school I looked at and the school that seemed like the most exciting opportunity for me.

What life lessons helped you transition from the U into the professional world?

The U has a little bit of everything and after graduating there I can confidently say we have the most diverse student body which allowed me to make friends for life with people from all different majors, ages, and backgrounds. Miami taught me to have an open mind and to be able to adapt to different circumstances. I think this is important in many facets of life, but especially in music where you are constantly having to improvise and adjust to who you’re playing with and working with.

What’s next for your career?

I am excited to be playing shows in NYC to support my new EP release. I am also currently working with a company to get the songs from the EP on college radio stations across the country and placed in some TV shows. Although I won’t be in town for Homecoming I can’t wait to come back in November to see all of my best friends and watch the 'Canes take on Notre Dame. I am also hoping to come back again to Miami in the spring and maybe do some gigs while I’m there!
