The Reunion Experience will bring together alumni from the classes of 1974, 1999, 2004, 2014, and 2019—an event in such demand it is already sold out.

Each graduating class departs from campus forever touched by the lessons learned, friendships forged, and moments shared at their alma mater. Class reunions offer alumni a unique opportunity to reconnect with these cherished memories, witness the transformation of the university, and create new, lasting memories with old friends. It’s a celebration of the past, present, and future—all woven into the fabric of the school they once called home.

After a four-year hiatus, the University of Miami will host The Reunion Experience during Alumni Weekend and Homecoming on Friday, October 25, welcoming the classes of 1974, 1999, 2004, 2014, and 2019.

The Reunion Experience will feature music from the 1970s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, and a memory wall will spotlight the historic moments of those years. Photo collages of each class will be available in digital format, and an interactive video montage will feature photos submitted by alumni in attendance. Guests will enjoy an exclusive food and beverage menu, and discounted access to the ’Canes Lounge.

Among the alumni attending are Michael Friedman, B.B.A. ’74, who looks forward to his 50th class reunion with gratitude and retrospection, and Diane Chapin, B.A. ’64, who will attend as the guest of her daughter celebrating her 20th class reunion.

“I am fortunate to have discovered at an early age that I enjoy my career in the scrap metal recycling industry. It has taken me all over the globe, meeting and dealing with very intelligent people,” Friedman said. “My business gives me the opportunity to donate time to charitable and educational causes. I am also fortunate to use all of my Miami education in growing and sustaining my company.

Chapin echoed this sentiment, saying: “The 60th anniversary of my graduation reminds me of all I gained from my years at the University of Miami and took with me into the future—and to celebrate Homecoming alongside my daughter, who graduated 20 years ago, confirms our identity as a ’Canes family.  It makes me proud to learn of all the achievements of my alma mater and to see the beauty of the campus today.”

Friedman added: “Every year, the Louisville ’Canes have a Summer Sendoff party for incoming first-year students. I envy these highly accomplished young adults facing the fear and excitement of the unknown with fortitude and confidence. Can I have a do-over?”
