Rhodes Scholarship—The oldest international scholarship, established in 1902, the Rhodes Scholarship brings outstanding individuals to the University of Oxford for two to three years, covering all tuition and a maintenance stipend. Campus deadline: August 4.
Marshall Scholarship—Rooted in the Marshall Plan’s commitment to human dignity, democratic freedoms, and mutual cooperation, this award supports bright Americans to pursue graduate study at any British university, covering university fees, living expenses, book grants, travel, and more. Campus deadline: August 4.
Fulbright U.S. Student Program—Supports individually designed study/research plans, artistic projects, or English Teaching Assistantships for one academic year abroad, covering transportation, stipend, health insurance, and more. Campus deadline: August 10 (Study/Research); August 31 (English Teaching Assistantships). National Deadline: early October.
Schwarzman Scholars—A fully funded, one-year master’s degree in Global Affairs at Tsinghua University in Beijing, focused on leadership and international affairs. Open to students or recent graduates from all majors. Campus deadline: mid-September.
Gates Cambridge Scholarship—Funded by the Gates Foundation, this award enables outstanding graduate students to study at the University of Cambridge, covering fees, a living allowance, and airfare. Selection is based on intellectual ability, leadership, and commitment to improving the world. Deadline: October.
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP)—Recognizes outstanding graduate students in STEM disciplines pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees. Fellows receive a three-year annual stipend of $34,000 plus a $12,000 cost-of-education allowance. Deadline: late October/early November (varies by discipline).
David L. Boren Scholarship—Provides funding for undergraduates and graduates to develop mastery of a foreign language through long-term linguistic and cultural immersion. Multi-semester programs abroad are strongly encouraged. Campus and national deadline: January 2027.
