Engineering Alum Named Biomedical Technology Chair at King Saud University

Khalid Alhussaini, an assistant professor of biomedical technology department, has been named chair of the biomedical technology department at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Alhussaini came to King Saud University as a teaching assistant in the College of Applied Medical Science in 2010, became an assistant professor in 2017 and named a chair in 2019. His research is dedicated to innovation in neurosensory engineering. He focuses on developing diagnostics tools and techniques in the field of auditory neuroscience.

“I am extremely pleased and humbled to have been appointed as the department chair. I look forward to assisting our students and faculty to reach our full collective potential, and we will continue our trajectory of becoming one of the truly premier global universities,” said Alhussaini. “As a department, we are poised to make tremendous innovative research and education contributions to the country. I can think of no greater opportunity and I am very grateful and honored to have been selected for this position.”

Alhussaini earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical technology from King Saud University and a master’s and PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Miami College of Engineering.
