Mechanical Engineering Student Heading to Embraer

Hiba Benkhye, a senior in the University of Miami College of Engineering (UMCoE) Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE), is heading to Embraer, a Brazilian aerospace conglomerate that produces commercial, military, executive and agricultural aircraft and provides aeronautical services. Benkhye will be working on the final assembly of executive jets as a manufacturing engineer in Melbourne, Florida.

Benkhye will graduate in May with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering, with a concentration in aerospace. She has consistently been listed on the Dean’s Lists and also has received her Lean Six Sigma Certification. Benkhye has worked as an undergraduate researcher in the UMCoE MAE Biomechanics Tissue Lab, Sustainable Building Systems Lab and Industrial Assessment Center. She also landed internships in the manufacturing process and methods department at SAFRAN Electrical & Power Systems in Rabat, Morocco, and in the department of quality control and engineering at Bombardier Aerospace North Africa in Casablanca, Morocco. Benkhye is involved in numerous clubs including the Engineering Student Peer Advisor, Model United Nations and UMaker. She also enjoys playing soccer and dance.
