I wanted to get involved in the community because I had such a good transition to college and wanted to give it back and share my experiences with prospective students.

What advice would you offer to new engineering students?
I would tell new engineering students to use your resources including the professors, so do not be afraid of them and peer tutoring. Both of these resources helped me be successful throughout my time at the ‘U.’

What do you feel is unique about being a student at UM College of Engineering?
People think Miami is a huge school and has a huge school atmosphere, but being a student at UM College of Engineering is a really small and tight-knit community. You get to know the other students and professors really well.

We welcome prospective students to the campus and allow them to see if Miami is a good fit for them.

Which College student organization stands out to you and why?
UScuba stands out because it has such a big reach to kids and not many schools have an organization like that.`

What do you feel you are getting out of this position?
I feel I am gaining leadership, public speaking skills, and networking while other students are learning about Miami.

Why has this been a good experience for you?
It has been a good experience because I got to meet new students and professors allowing me to get more involved with the College of Engineering before entering my sophomore year.

What did you do during your summer 2019 break?
I worked at a local surf shop this summer and began to expand my network. In addition, I worked on prepping for applying for an internship this summer.
