Whether you need a break from studying or just want to try something new, Outdoor Adventures at Lakeside Village might just be the answer for University of Miami students. The facility opened in October and houses an 840-square-foot, rock climbing wall. But don’t be intimidated by its size—the wall features climbing routes suitable for every experience level, from beginners to experts. Not only is climbing challenging physically, but its problem-solving nature makes it a stress-relieving mental boost as well.

The climbing wall is open Monday–Friday from 3 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. In accordance with COVID-19 public health safety guidelines, one-hour climbing sessions must be booked in advance and masks must be worn at all times. To reserve a slot, you must first complete a brief orientation video and quiz on the Outdoor Adventures website. The wall currently is restricted for use by students only, but staff and faculty members will gain access in spring 2021.
