Alumnus & Producer Federico Vindver Credits his Chart-Topping Success to Frost

Billboard charts are filled with productions of Frost School of Music alumnus Federico Vindver (B.M. ’08). He has ranked at #5 on the Hot 100 Songwriters list, #10 on the Hot 100 Producers, #8 on the Hip- Hop Producers, #2 on the Christian Songwriters, and is still charting on 4 categories to this day.  For his latest production, Kanye West’s Jesus is King (#1 Billboard Top 100),  he produced 10 songs of which every track debuted in the Billboard Top 100.

"I truly believe that everything I learned at UM’s Frost School of Music, and the relationships that I forged through my college years there, were the key to my success in the industry," states Federico, who just finished Coldplay’s new album. Of the four songs he produced on Coldplay’s Everyday Life album, two have already been released as singles and both are charting on Billboard: "Orphans" and "Everyday Life."

In the last 2 years, he has written and produced songs for Mariah Carey, Pharrell Williams, Zayn, Muse, Chance the Rapper, Armin Van Buuren, Tee Grizzley, and many others. He is also working extensively with super-producer Timbaland, and in 2020 will release an online platform for music producers called BeatClub. This platform will allow producers to sell their music online and network with other music creators/artists.

"We are extremely excited about this project, we have secured some very strong partnerships and we believe is going to be a massive success," Federico’s Professor Steve Rucker, Lecturer, Studio Music and Jazz Department stated: "The jazz program at Frost prides itself on its diversity of style and openness to innovation. Fede was on the cutting edge of musical trends, particularly in the pop area.  He was a pleasure to work with, and always brought his sense of humor and musical integrity to rehearsals."

Federico Vindver is an extraordinary example of what can be achieved with a music education at the Frost School of Music and why students and alumni alike are proud to call themselves #FrostBuilt.

He states he would certainly love to help out other students, perhaps through talks or masterclasses and we hope this becomes a reality soon.  Stay tuned!
