Donna E. Shalala MusicReach Program Launches Music Education Resource Website
MusicLink Miami is a website devoted to providing youth and families with access to virtual, high-quality music education resources. The website was developed by the Donna E. Shalala MusicReach Program amidst the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to virtually connect with students and families and provide music education experiences virtually at school and in the home.

MusicLink Miami boasts masterclasses curated and created by Frost School of Music students. Some of the offerings include “The Music of Jeff Scott with the KHAOS Wind Quintet,” “Songwriting Tips with Alejandra Jimenez,” “Intro to the Blues with Colin Logatto,” “Percussion Instrument Care with Sammy McCullough,” and more! The website also features links to external music resources such as IMSLP and MusicTheory.net to give students and teachers easy access to the content they need to elevate their online music experience.

The mission of the award-winning Shalala MusicReach program is to enrich the education of underserved youth in the Miami-Dade community through unique and innovative music education programming while providing opportunities for Frost School of Music students to develop their teaching and community engagement skills. MusicLink Miami will provide access to free quality resources to support this mission and bring the power of music to students in our community and beyond. For more information about the Donna E. Shalala MusicReach Program, please visit musicreach.frost.miami.edu.
