Students planning on submitting a thesis, dissertation, doctoral essay, or lecture recital essay for Spring 2019 semester graduation, or any subsequent semester, should be aware that all deadlines noted below must be met. Missed deadlines will result in your graduation being moved to the following semester.
Details about each of the four deadlines can be viewed on the ETD section of the Graduate School's website. Students are encouraged to begin the final formatting review process as soon as possible with Doreen Yamamoto, Associate Director of Programs of the Graduate School (grad.dissertation@miami.edu), at any time before the posted deadline dates.

- Deadline to Defend: Friday, April 5, 2019
- Deadline to Submit Full Draft for Formatting Review: Friday, April 19, 2019
- Deadline for Producing Final PDF: Wednesday, May 1, 2019
- Deadline for Completion: Wednesday, May 8, 2019
