Graduate Assistant Job Description
The Office of Pre-Health Advising and Mentoring is seeking a talented graduate assistant to aid with the editing, proofreading, and reviewing of Pre-Health committee letters during the spring and/or summer 2019 writing cycle. The primary goal of this role is to assist the Director and office staff with the overall committee letter process. A committee letter is a composite letter or formal recommendation letter written by the Pre-Health office in advocacy of Pre-Health student’s candidacy to a health professional school. It highlights their background, accomplishments and preparation for their career of choice.

Preferred Qualifications/Characteristics

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Excellent wordsmith, writer, and editor
  • Extensive writing experience
  • Microsoft Office familiarity (Importantly Word and Excel)
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or related field

Additional Information

  • Work Hours
    • Flexible; however, the ideal candidate would work between 15-30 hours/week
  • Compensation
    • Pay Classification Level D
    • $12.01-$15.00 hourly depending on experience
