Master’s in Music Business and Entertainment Industries graduate chosen as the 2020 student commencement speaker

Music knows no bounds for Miami native, Kaylah Taylor, a singer-songwriter, pianist, guitarist, composer, producer, educator, and now a graduate of the Frost School of Music’s Master’s degree in Music Business and Entertainment Industries. Her musical versatility comes from experience in a variety of ensembles. She was a jazz pianist and vocalist in the Falcon Jazz Band and sang in the North Star Acapella Ensemble and the Chamber Singers of Miami Dade North.

In 2011, she was featured in Billboard Music Magazine’s Billboard Women in Music. She has performed with Latin Grammy Winner Ed Calle for a tribute concert of Burt Bacharach songs. From 2012 to 2018, she was the featured soloist for the “Fourth of July at the Biltmore Hotel” in Coral Gables with the Greater Miami Symphonic Band.

Kaylah has self-produced and released two original albums. Her most recent one, “Autism Speaks”, includes a song for which she recorded two versions, one as a pop song and the other is sensory-friendly acoustic version. As an artist who is on the Autism spectrum, she hopes that projects like this will help spread social awareness. She currently serves as a K-6 music teacher at Downtown Miami Charter School.
