This Wednesday, Oct. 12, ’Canes near and far can power a brighter future at the U with one simple click. The University of Miami’s fourth annual Giving Day is an invitation to all students, alumni, parents, friends, and Hurricane fans to join and support our students, innovative programs, groundbreaking research, and so much more.

The goal of this 24-hour day of giving is to secure gifts from 3,000 donors and, in doing so, to unlock more than $1 million in additional support for the University. With more than 40 gift challenges throughout the day that will activate bonus funds, gifts made on Giving Day will go even further.

“Giving Day is an engaging way for ’Canes to support the areas they are most passionate about and have their gifts achieve even greater impact because of the many unique matching gift opportunities available on this one day,” said Josh Friedman, senior vice president for development and alumni relations. “The collective power of our ’Canes family means that every gift, no matter the amount, makes an outsized difference.”

Participating in Giving Day is easy, no matter where you are. Give to the area or areas that matter most to you by making an online donation in any amount by 11:59 p.m. EDT on Oct. 12.

In addition to making a gift, become an ambassador. Help spread the word and encourage fellow ’Canes to give back. Our tool kit includes easy-to-download Giving Day graphics for use on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
