KPMG: Corporate Associate of the Month

As such, KPMG has recognized the University of Miami Business School (MBS) as one of its priority schools for recruiting and hiring of their accounting graduates. KPMG currently employs around 77 Miami Business School Alumni. They work in various departments of the firm including Advisory, Audit, Tax, and the Business Process Group.

Although the majority of the MBS alumni are employed in KPMG’s South Florida offices, alumni are located in 22 cities across the US as well as Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Australia. The firm has also hired interns from the MBS Master of Accounting Program (MAcc). Our MAcc program provides a concentration in financial and managerial accounting, as well as auditing and systems, to develop the skills demanded of accounting professionals in the industry today. The program is among just a handful to be fully accredited by the AACSB International, the leading accrediting body for business schools worldwide.

Ezequiel Ladron de Guevara, Audit Partner at KPMG has been with the firm for 17 years. When asked about KPMG’s long-standing relationship with the Miami Business School Ezequiel recalls:

KPMG is also a sponsor of the BusinessForUM, hosted annually by Miami Business School’s Department of Accounting. The ForUM attracts a large number of alumni, accountants, and lawyers. This year’s conference theme was “The Influence of eCommerce on the Global Economy.” Jose Rodriguez, Partner in Charge and Executive Director of the Audit Committee at KPMG, is a BBA ’81 and the incoming Vice-Chairman of the MBS Board of Overseers. Jose was awarded “Alumnus of the Year” for his dedication to the Miami Business School. He has been a partner with KPMG for more than 20 years and in the profession for over 35 years.

KPMG is also a Silver Member ($10,000+) of the Corporate Associates Program. The program includes 48 global and local businesses that have built long-term strategic relationships with MBS. Depending on the company’s chosen level of support, the school provides essential resources as a way of saying “thank you” for a company’s valuable contribution as a corporate partner.
