The university’s Event and Conference Management System (ECMS) implementation team - made up of representatives from UMIT, Student Affairs, Miami Law School and other units - has been working diligently to bring the new system online for the University of Miami. Once fully operational, the ECMS suite of cloud-based software platforms will facilitate nearly all aspects of event scheduling and planning across all UM campuses. From venue requests and reservations to event registration, payment processing, and seat diagramming, all critical aspects for a comprehensive approach to event planning are now together in one system.
The central component the software package, Event Management System (EMS), allows users to view, search for, and book a variety of spaces located within all UM event venues. With EMS, all venues will be incorporated into one portal, eliminating the need to contact multiple venue managers in order to find an available space on campus.
