Welcome back to the 305, Canes Family! The campus is filled with joy as thousands of students and faculty returned. Orientation and Commuter Student Involvement (OSCI) kicked off the return this past week with Cane Kickoff. Incoming new students spent the week learning about the University and immersing themselves in the community and learning what it means to be a Cane. The excitement is just beginning; whether it's your first year or your fourth, there are many resources available for all students to help make your transition back to school seamless.
The Division of Student Affairs and Alumni Engagement is the umbrella organization for many of the commonly utilized entities in our everyday lives at the U. If you are interested in volunteer work, check out the Butler Center for Service and Leadership. They are hosting Orientation Outreach, a kick-off day for students to come together and serve the local community, on Sunday, August 24. To learn more, check out the website.
Getting ahead of your assignments is easy with the Camner Center for Academic Resources, free peer tutoring begins September 2 and can be booked on navigate through Cane Link. The University of Miami Counseling Center is now open for the semester on weekdays for services and appointments. After hour services are also available 24/7, you can access those here.
Student Activities and Student Organizations (SASO) is the place to be if you want to get involved. With over 300 student organizations and activities, you can find a group of students who are also passionate about what you enjoy! Visit their website here to see all that SASO has to offer.
