On December 15th, graduate students of UOnline’s Finance, Sports Administration, and Accounting programs will receive their diplomas alongside all University of Miami undergraduates, Masters, and Doctoral candidates.
From Florida to California, UOnline’s 2016 graduating class represents a nationally diverse group of students who will be joining the ranks of 177,445 fellow University of Miami alumni. The day will be filled with many events, both on-campus and off. Find out what festivities and celebrations our graduates can expect.
On-Campus
All UOnline students have the opportunity to graduate on campus alongside their peers. Students will be able to meet the classmates and professors they have interacted with virtually as a UOnline student as well as experience campus in-person.
Graduation festivities will begin with a reception at Whitten University Center for graduates and their families. Graduates can pick up regalia, meet their enrollment and academic advisors, spend time with classmates, and an appearance from a University of Miami mascot, Sebastian.
The next day commencement will take place at the Watsco Center on the Coral Gables campus. Commencement will begin with an academic procession featuring candidates, participating faculty, and alumni representatives. The academic procession will be followed by the president’s procession lead by University of Miami President, Julio Frenk.
Students will be presented by the dean of each school and honored alongside fellow graduates from the class of 2016.
Off-campus
Students who choose to not to attend graduation on-campus can still join in on the day’s festivities by live broadcasting the commencement ceremony. All students can expect to receive their diploma by mail eight weeks after graduating.
UOnline is extremely proud of the hard work and academic excellence its graduates have achieved during their time at the University of Miami. We look forward to celebrating the class of 2016 and the success these students will achieve in the future.
