UOnline is gearing up to welcome its newest class of graduate students. To help new students learn the ropes UOnline offers an on-campus orientation for all MBA, accounting, and finance students. Orientation builds your network and connections central to UOnline’s interactive learning model from day one. Find out what our newest students can expect when they gather on campus Saturday, January 7th.
UOnline Program and Class Overview
The first part of the day will be dedicated to understanding UOnline’s learning model. UOnline uses an interactive learning model that is both collaborative and outcome-focused. Students can access classes on any device at any time. Additionally, faculty use the UOnline platform to hold virtual office hours and provide feedback on assignments. During orientation, students will learn how to navigate UOnline’s virtual learning platform. The platform will be demonstrated by faculty and students will get hands-on instruction for using the platform throughout their program. Additionally, faculty members will review their courses as well as their expectations throughout each program.
Header: Networking with Faculty, Classmates, and Alumni
UOnline’s MBA, finance, and accounting programs give students access to a diverse group of classmates, world-class faculty, and an alumni network of over 160,000 members. Orientation is the first opportunity students will have to network within the University of Miami community. Students will have the chance to develop critical relationships during several orientation events. Students will meet faculty during their classroom and advising overview as well as during a lunch with faculty members. Later, students will be able to ask questions to a panel of alumni and current students. Finally, students will have the opportunity to network during the program’s closing reception.
UOnline Career Services
The University of Miami has several career resources including The Toppel Career Center and Ziff Graduate Career Services Center. Students will gain access to highly trained career advisors, online and on-campus recruitment events, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities. Representatives from The Toppel and Ziff centers will be on-hand during orientation to provide an overview of working with each career center. Additionally, students will have the chance to ask questions and begin the first steps in achieving their career goals and aspirations. UOnline’s orientation is the perfect introduction to life as a Cane and we can’t wait to get to know the latest class of incoming students!
