Engineering students came together to celebrate EWeek 2024 with activities celebrating the engineering profession.
College of Engineering dean, Pratim Biswas, kicked off EWeek with an Ask Me Anything, and the gatherings continued with an ice cream social, sandwich production line, and festive closing block party where students had the opportunity to dunk their favorite professors in a dunk tank. Engineering students from different fields also held workshops on virtual reality, nanomaterials, and Arduino. The week wrapped up with a visit from the Girl Scouts, who learned about robotics fundamentals and earned their “Programming Robots” badge.
Founded by the National Society of Professional Engineers in 1951, EWeek is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. EWeek not only fosters learning and networking but also honors the engineering community's contributions to finding solutions for today’s problems. The events also help bring together the various kinds of engineers and celebrate their collaborations.
