The One Sport Business Conference You Want to Attend

By UM News

How do you build a successful career in sports? You definitely need the right skill set, but in today's competitive industry, that is not enough you also need to network. Building a well-connected network is imperative to get your foot in the door. We designed our Master's in Sport Administration online program to be more than just a degree; it’s an opportunity to learn from the top sports faculty in the country and get access to opportunities to network and hear from the best and brightest in the business. That is why we are excited to announce the inaugural University of Miami Sport Industry Conference, to be held April 15 and 16 at the University of Miami BankUnited Center Fieldhouse. This two-day conference will provide an amazing opportunity to interact with leading sport industry professionals in an engaging and collegial setting. Attendees will hear firsthand how top sport experts are handling some of the most pressing issues faced across the industry and be able to take skills and techniques discussed back to their own organization or place of business. A few of our top panelists include:

Matt Birk, Keynote Speaker, NFL Super Bowl Champion & current NFL Director of Football Development

Max Eisenbud, IMG, Vice President of Tennis

Michael McCullough, Miami Heat, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer

Keri Potts, ESPN, Senior Director of Public Relations

Jeremy Darlow, Adidas, Director of Brand Marketing Football and Baseball; Author, “Brands Win Championships;” Oregon State University, Adjunct Professor of Digital Brand Management

Bonnie Bernstein, Campus Insiders, Vice President of Content and Development and Host; former ESPN and CBS broadcaster

Attendees will also have been invited to participate in a career fair where they can network and engage with industry experts from ESPN, the Orange Bowl Committee, Fort Lauderdale Strikers, and more organizations. The career fair presents a great opportunity for attendees to seek new career opportunities, while also receiving relevant feedback about how to obtain the positions they desire in the industry. The pricing for the conference is extremely competitive, and we are offering free tickets to a select group of current UOnline students. This is a great example of what sports business, the UM, and UOnline way, is all about –giving you the skills and networking opportunities to succeed in truly turning your passion into your career. Learn more about the conference. Learn more about the online Sports Admin program. Join the conversation on social media:#UMSIC2016, @UMSportsBiz
