Delaney Reynolds is no stranger to hard work when it comes to her passions. She completed the Tropical Marine Biology track as a student in DCIE’s Summer Scholars Program in 2015. As a high schooler, she was the lead plaintiff in a 2020 case against the state of Florida where she and other young people sued state leaders over air pollution and its threat to the future health of our planet and local environment. Although the case was eventually dismissed, Reynolds continued her climate activism and advocacy work for climate justice by other means.

Earlier this year, she and a youth coalition of over 200 people successfully petitioned the state’s Department of Agriculture to open the rulemaking process with a goal of "generating 100% of Florida’s electricity from renewable energy by 2050."

A Miami native, Reynolds is currently studying at the University of Miami to earn her degree in law and a PhD in environmental studies. She continues her activism in the climate space while pursuing her education and is hopeful that Gen Z will leverage their political power to create tangible change in environmental laws and regulations and fight climate change.
