Dean Rodolphe el-Khoury, Professor Adib Cure and Christopher Mader (of Center for Computational Science -UMCCS) were invited by The Colombian Society of Architects to participate in their 36th Annual Architecture and Urbanism Congress held in Barranquilla, on September 12th and 13th, 2019.

The theme of this year’s Congress was ‘Arquitectura con Identidad’.  El-Khoury presented RAD Lab’s Smart City work in a keynote address while Cure and Mader presented their ongoing mapping of informal cities in Latin America, along with architectural projects for infrastructure and the public realm.

U-SoA’s participation in Colombia’s national architectural forum is a first and part of strategic efforts to enhance presence and opportunities for collaboration in Latin America.
