Game day looks different for everyone. Maybe you enjoy the game from the field, behind the scenes, or sitting in the stands.
While my version of fun is waking up early on game day and getting to the stadium seven hours before with Category 5, others might find that to be excruciating, and that is okay!
Just remember that you will only have this experience once in your lifetime and you want to make it count. Here are three tips to make the most of your college football days:
Game Day Tip #1
Plan ahead as best as you can.
Have your clear bag prepared the night before, have your outfit picked out, and know your plans in terms of how you are going to get to the stadium and get back to campus safely.
It is important to plan ahead mainly because game day can be very hectic and if you plan accordingly, your day will be that much smoother. Planning ahead also means checking the rules and regulations of the stadium itself to know what you can and cannot bring inside the stadium.
Game Day Tip #2
Stay hydrated.
Drink plenty of water the day before and the day of. For the midday games especially, it can get very hot and if you happen to be sitting somewhere where there is no shade, it will only feel worse, so stay hydrated.
Luckily, the stadium does provide bottles of water for free when you first enter through the student gate, but if you need more water after that, you can always use the water fountains to refill the bottle you got for free.
Game Day Tip #3
Have fun!
Take it all in. It is only within these four years that you’ll be able to take a shuttle and attend games like this for free with the people you love the most. Go to every game if you can and really make those memories.
Bonus Tip: Don’t miss out on the First-Year Walk! Hosted by Category 5, this cherished tradition gives first-year students exclusive access to the field where they can join in on fun activities. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience reserved just for first-years, so make sure you’re part of it!
