The Frost School of Music dedicated its new Messinger Music Executive Building on April 4 in a festive, confetti-filled celebration of both the building and arts patron Marty Messinger, who contributed $500,000 to the Frost Building Fund to renovate the old Handleman Institute for Recorded Sound at the center of the music quad.
Thanks to his generosity, the Messinger Music Executive Building provides brand new offices for Frost Dean Shelly Berg and the rest of his executive staff, who were formerly housed in the basement of the Gusman Concert Hall.
“You’ve been sprung,” Messinger told Berg when the dean moved into his new, sun-filled office overlooking the lush music quad. Messinger also supports the Donna E. Shalala Music-Reach Program at the Frost School of Music
