Call for Applications: 2018 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition

The search for 2018 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competitors is on and applications are now being accepted!

On the heels of last year’s resounding success, the Graduate School and the Graduate Student Association are excited to host the University of Miami’s 2nd Annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, a unique event that gives doctoral students the opportunity to persuasively present their dissertation topic before a live audience in less than three minutes, using a single PowerPoint slide. Participation in the 3MT® Competition can help students strengthen academic and presentation skills, while promoting cross-departmental connections and interdisciplinary work. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the winner, runner-up and people’s choice winner.

If you are (or know of) a doctoral student at the University who meets the following criteria, submit a competitor application today (research supervisor approval is needed) and be a part of this one-of-a-kind event!

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student must be an active doctoral student in good academic standing
  • Student must be admitted to candidacy
  • Student must be near-completion or have already completed their dissertation by January 15, 2018 (e.g., analyses, conclusions finished)
