"This year was particularly competitive for fellowship positions, as the FBF fellowship funds were cut in half," said Professor Bernard Perlmutter, Director of Miami Law's Children and Youth Law Clinic.
Jurney will spend her summer working at the Dade County Bar Association Legal Aid Society, Lamb-Bradfield will work at the Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center, and McGivern will work at Legal Services of Greater Miami.
Rodriguez was placed in the Children and Youth Law Clinic for the second year in a row. "As a returning student, Miraisy will be well-situated to mentor the interns who will be taught and supervised by Professor Guacci in the Summer Clinic, and to engage in more sophisticated legal advocacy," said Perlmutter.
The FBF Legal Aid Summer Fellowships are offered to first and second-year law students. The Program runs for a period of 11 weeks and is a full-time position for the summer. Fellowship stipends are expected to be $5,500 for first-year students and $7,000 for second-year students.
