Nearly 50 people rode through Coral Gables and South Miami, retracing some of the routes Natasha used for training for various triathlons in which she competed. Donations raised will benefit the South Florida Bike Coalition, which will work to promote safer bicycling around the University.
A representative from the South Florida Bike Coalition even provided her personal bike to a participant to ensure everyone had a chance to partake in the event. There were no more bikes to spare as the outpouring of support exceeded expectations.
"It couldn't have been a more beautiful day," said 3L Andrew Babnik, Jr., who worked alongside Natasha in the Children and Youth Law Clinic during their second year to supply legal aid to children in Miami-Dade County.
"Natasha was not only a colleague but a friend and an inspiration," said Babnik who remembers Natasha as a person who always stood firm for what she believed in and did so with grace. "This bike ride is the least we can do to honor such an amazing person who will be deeply missed in our law school community."
A memorial was held following the bike ride on the Law School Bricks. Kenniss Henry, Natasha's mother, shared sentimental moments about "Sunshine," a nickname given to Natasha to reflect her ever-joyous spirit. Natasha's friends also spoke about the life she lived while at Miami Law.
