In that position, she led the organization of the largest Florida state conference in 2006 and the Southern Regional Conference in 2007, both at the University of Miami School of Law, and significantly expanded the fundraising and membership of the Miami Chapter. She also co-chaired the Civil Rights Committee of the Florida Bar and was a member of the board for the Florida International University Women's Center Advisory Council. Carvalho Morris has published and lectured on international human rights and aspects of Brazilian and American constitutional law.
Amnesty International has more than 2.8 million supporters, in more than 150 countries, campaigning for human rights worldwide. The organization investigates and exposes abuses, educates and mobilizes the public, and works to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied.
