NASFAA is the largest postsecondary education association with institutional membership in Washington, D.C., and the only national association with a primary focus on student aid legislation, regulatory analysis, and training for financial aid administrators in all sectors of post-secondary education.
Brown holds a B.B.A. from the University of Miami, where she has worked for more than twenty-five years. For the first fourteen-and-a-half years she worked at the University of Miami Office of Financial Assistance Services, where she held many positions including financial aid advisor, delivery and scholarship coordinator, and various assistant director positions which included major responsibilities in areas such as delivery, verification, publications and staff development. In 2002, she joined Miami Law's Financial Aid Office as the associate director, and was promoted to director in 2005.
In addition to serving on the Graduate & Professional Initiatives Committee with NASFAA, she has also served as the 2010 Conference Committee Chair on the 2009-2010 Executive Board of the Southern Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (SASFAA). In the past, she served as a member of the NASFAA Student Access & Diversity Committee, the SASFAA 2008-2009 Executive Board as the Management Institute Committee Chair and two-year terms as a member of SASFAA Governance & Planning and the Professional Advancement Committees.
She has also served on the Executive Board of the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators from 2002-2007 in several leadership capacities. In addition, Brown has participated in many training and workshop programs for national, state and regional organizations. She has also been actively involved on campus in presenting financial aid sessions to students, parents, colleagues and specific program attendees.
