Jackie Rosen, the chief executive and director of FISP, will be speaking at Miami Law on Monday, Oct. 17, at 8:30 a.m. in the Faculty Meeting Room. Staff and faculty are invited to hear Rosen discuss depressive illnesses, suicidal warning signs and how to help someone at risk of attempting suicide.
The Rosens also established the Mitchell A. Rosen Fund so that Miami Law could promote healthy coping skills to students and staff. The fund has helped support initiatives such as Wellness Week and Mental Health Day.
"I'm so appreciative of Jackie and Harry, who have been strong supporters of the wellness initiatives here at UM Law," said Iris Morera, the Disability Services coordinator. "Whether it has been through conducting suicide prevention training for our staff or underwriting Wellness Week and Mental Health Day for our students, the Law School community would not be the same without them."
