Jenna Winchester, of section D, bounced with joy.

"When I came to UM, I clicked with the students," said Winchester, who received the senator-at-large title for having the most student votes. "I loved the atmosphere. I loved the concept, the teachers. I loved everything about it." The passion she has for Miami Law inspired her to run for election. Now that she is an official SBA member, she wants to be an advocate for the students.

Netaly Masica, of section B, was equally excited after Wednesday's results were announced. However, today's SBA meeting was a bit sobering. "I don't know what I got myself into," she said, "but I'm starting to find out."

Moving forward, she intends to make a positive impact for the students.

"I don't see anything that's lacking at this moment in time," she said. "But it's not just about me. It's about the whole 1L class."
