Miami Law Graduates Exemplify Success, Achievement

Tiffani G. Lee, who graduated magna cum laude in 1997, is a partner in the Miami office of Holland & Knight. She is a member of the South Florida Litigation Group, and her practice includes both business and securities litigation. She is experienced in the defense of securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative actions and actions alleging various business torts, and has been involved in the firm's diversity and inclusion efforts for several years. She currently serves as the firm-wide Diversity Partner and Chairs the firm-wide Diversity Council. She frequently speaks on diversity-related issues at conferences sponsored by bar and professional organizations. Lee has tried cases in the state and federal courts of Florida.

Lee is a member of the Board of Directors of Street Law Inc., the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, and the Board of Directors of Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. She is a Trustee of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.

While in law school, Lee was President of the Honor Council, a Founding Fellow of the Center for Ethics & Public Service and a Writing and Research Editor of the University of Miami Law Review. She was elected to the Order of the Coif and awarded membership in the Iron Arrow Honor Society, the highest honor attainable at the University of Miami.

As if that were not enough, she was the first African-American woman to serve as President of the Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyers Section. She was named a member of the Florida Legal Elite by Florida Trend magazine for 2010-2011; and a Top Up and Comer by South Florida Legal Guide, 2008-2011.

Jaret Davis, who graduated magna cum laude from Miami Law in 1999, is a partner in the Miami office of Greenberg Traurig and represents corporate clients, both domestically and internationally, with respect to matters concerning mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings, financings, securities law compliance, venture capital, joint ventures and various other types of general contractual matters.

On the public company front, Davis has represented clients with an aggregate market capitalization of more than $4 billion, operating in industries ranging from an electronic security services operator to one of the largest distributors of HVAC systems in the United States.

Davis is particularly focused on the telecommunications and life sciences industries. In telecommunications, he has represented several major companies, including a major application services provider, a leading Internet exchange provider that operates in the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia, and several telecommunication startups. In the life sciences sector, Davis has represented biotechnology start-ups, some of which are publicly-traded, as well as a large Nasdaq-traded manufacturer of orthopedic implants.

Davis serves as primary M & A counsel for the public companies described above, with respect to U.S. acquisitions for a large Canadian software company and to Latin America acquisitions for a hedge fund with approximately $10 billion in assets under management. In 2011, he led a multidisciplinary team spanning several continents and multiple practice areas to negotiate, on behalf of Terremark Worldwide, Inc., a leading Nasdaq-traded provider of IT infrastructure, its acquisition by Verizon Communications. The deal had an equity value of approximately $2 billion and an enterprise value of approximately $2.5 billion, ranking it among the largest and most significant transactions within the IT industry and the largest transaction for Verizon since its acquisition of MCI in 2005.

In addition, Davis has represented clients in the restaurant and entertainment industry, having facilitated various clients in their purchases of restaurants, nightclubs and other venues, including the purchase, renovation and launch of what is currently one of the leading nightclubs on Miami Beach. Prior to his practice with Greenberg Traurig, Davis served as a law clerk for both the Enforcement Division and the Market Regulation Division of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.
